The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company. “You,” refers to you, as a user of our Site or our Service.
It is our company policy that all sales are final and non-refundable, including but not limited to monthly tutoring memberships, both one-on-one as well as any other form of tutoring, whether academic or otherwise, the purchase of ACT/SAT/PSAT Boot Camp tickets, or any other ticketed event.
While we know that our program has a proven track record of success, we do not guarantee specific outcomes(because we cannot guarantee that your student will follow the program). This includes but is not limited to: guarantee of GPA increase, ACT/SAT/PSAT scores, guarantee of a specific test score, acceptance to specific Colleges/Universities, guarantee of scholarships or guarantee of any other form of successful outcome.
However, because our program has a proven high rate of successful outcomes, if there is no evidence of improvement for the specified instances listed hereunder, we have a desire to ascertain what, if anything could have been done differently from an academic perspective, as this is an extremely rare occurrence and will offer the following:
- If a student does not exhibit improvement by at least one full letter grade or ten (10) percentage points after successfully completing eighteen (18) tutoring sessions, we will provide six (6) additional tutoring hours at no further cost.*The tutoring sessions must be completed in a timely manner (typically 2-3 sessions per week), with the student completing all assignments, both during tutoring sessions as well as homework prescribed by the tutor. Results are based on the initial class grade and follow-up grade, as stated on the student’s district portal.
- If a student does not exhibit an improvement of at least two (2) points in their tutored subject area on the ACT®, we will provide eight (8) additional tutoring hours at no further cost.*The tutoring sessions must be completed in a timely manner (typically 2-3 sessions per week), with the student completing all assignments, both during tutoring sessions as well as homework prescribed by the tutor. Results are based on the student’s initial ACT® score and follow-up score, as stated on the student’s previous ACT® exam. They must also take an official ACT® within thirty (30) days of the final session in order to qualify for the additional tutoring. If the student has not taken the ACT®, Launch Academy Tutoring Company will provide a mock test to set the initial ACT® score. If the student has taken multiple ACT® tests prior to tutoring, Launch Academy will take the average of the two most recent tests and use that as the student’s initial ACT® score.
- C) If a student does not exhibit improvement of at least 200 points in their tutored subject area on the SAT® , we will provide eight (8) additional tutoring hours at no further cost.*The tutoring sessions must be completed in a timely manner (typically 2-3 sessions per week), with the student completing all assignments, both during tutoring sessions as well as homework prescribed by the tutor. Results are based on the student’s initial SAT® score and follow-up score, as stated on the student’s previous SAT® exam. They must also take an official SAT® within 30 days of the final session in order to qualify for the additional tutoring. If the student has not taken the SAT®, Launch Academy Tutoring Company will provide a mock test to set the initial SAT score. If the student has taken multiple SAT® tests prior to tutoring, Launch Academy will take the average of the two most recent tests and use that as the student’s initial SAT® score.
- All other tutoring services not outlined in the guarantees above do not have a guarantee policy as previously stated in previous paragraphs.
All memberships are non-refundable and are set to renew automatically one month from the day the membership began. In order to discontinue a membership, a written email must be sent at least seven (7) days prior to the membership renewal date. All other requests to discontinue memberships made later than seven (7) days will be completed the following month and will be charged for the month that is at hand and no refund will be issued.
Additionally, in order to make changes to a membership in any way(i.e. 3 hours to 2 hours per week), a written email must be submitted at least seven (7) days prior to the membership renewal date, otherwise any requested changes will take place the following membership month.
If a cancellation occurs at least twelve (12)Hours prior to a scheduled tutoring session, it shall be considered a “qualified cancellation”. Qualified cancellations shall not count against monthly membership hours and may be rescheduled, so long as those sessions are completed before the users membership renewal date, which is listed on their very first invoice, and this reschedule will not incur any additional rescheduling fees. Anytime a session is canceled, it shall be the responsibility of the student or the parent to communicate with us about rescheduling. When attempting to reschedule a canceled session, students and parents understand that they may not get the preferred time, day or location and may need to be flexible to accommodate whatever academic coach is available. Because our system depends on a consistent schedule, students are allowed three (3) reschedules on qualified cancellations per membership month at no additional charge, after which Launch Academy may enforce a $20 rescheduling fee for additional reschedules at the company’s discretion.
If a cancellation occurs less than twelve (12)Hours prior to a scheduled tutoring session, it shall be considered as a “missed” session. A missed session shall count against the users monthly membership hours the same as an attended session, and therefore will be deducted from the users remaining membership hours. Furthermore, a $20 rescheduling fee will be required before that session can be rescheduled. As a company, we make a commitment to pay our Academic Coaches for their time, and if a last minute cancellation occurs or a student forgets about the tutoring session altogether, our coaches still get paid. This is to ensure that all parties will be responsible and respectful of one another’s time.
All reschedules must be made before the end of the membership month and any unused membership hours expire at the time of the users membership renewal date and are non-transferrable.
CANCELLATION OF LESSONS BY TUTOR
Launch Academy may cancel lessons by giving twelve (12) hour prior notice to the user, in which case no fees shall be incurred. Where a lesson was prepaid, Launch Academy shall reschedule the appointment at a time agreeable to both parties, failing which the user shall be refunded with such a missed lesson fee. If sessions are cancelled on the part of Launch Academy, a makeup session must be arranged within seven (7) days or those missed hours will be lost.
Fees are calculated according to the time stipulated in the schedule and no adjustment shall be made for time lost because of late arrival by the Student. Students who arrive late will only be tutored for the remainder of the scheduled session. There will be no prolonged sessions.
Any lost time because of the late arrival of the Tutor shall be compensated for by extending a lesson by mutual agreement and by such amount of time that was lost.
Students who are more than fifteen (15) minutes late to the predetermined location from when the tutor arrives are considered no-shows. If the Student is a no-show, he or she is still responsible for payment for the tutoring session. No discount or refunds shall be given in respect of lessons not attended by the Student. A no-show shall have the same consequences as a missed session in that there will be a $20 rescheduling fee required before that session can be rescheduled, the session that was missed will count against the users monthly membership hours and therefore, will be deducted from the total remaining membership hours.
